Vs texas a&m
In a 20-10 win over No. 7 Texas A&M, No. 16 Arkansas defeated its rival for the first time since joining the SEC in 2012. The Aggies offence was held to only 272 total yards by the Razorbacks, who handed them their first loss since Oct. 3, 2020, against Alabama.
The win is Arkansas’ second over a ranked opponent this season, and it could be enough to vault the Razorbacks into the top 10 of the college football rankings on Sunday following a hot start.
Vs a&m
ARLINGTON, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) — KJ Jefferson passed for 202 yards and two touchdowns before being injured early in the second half, and No. 16 Arkansas hung on for a 20-10 win against seventh-ranked Texas A&M on Saturday, the first in the series for the Razorbacks in their ten years as SEC rivals.
Arkansas beat Texas A&M 20-10 on Saturday, giving Jefferson 202 yards and two long touchdown passes against a Texas A&M team that hadn’t allowed a passing score all season.
a&m Game
Texas A&M (3-1, 0-1 SEC) also saw their 11-game winning streak stopped as they were outgained 443 to 272 yards.
The Aggies hadn’t allowed a passing touchdown since Jefferson’s 85-yard touchdown pass to Treylon Burks, who snatched the ball near the 40 after being pushed by a defender. Burks seemed to fall, but he stood up and went down the right sideline for a 10-0 lead late in the first quarter. Burks finished with 167 yards on six catches.
Razorbacks
Only southern Arkansas had wild pigs in 1988. Their range had increased northward by 2009, encompassing nearly every county in the state. In 2015, the number of wild hogs in Arkansas was estimated to be at 200,000. In Arkansas, wild razorbacks aren’t cardinal and white.
Arkansas has only won one national title (1964), so picking its best year is a no-brainer. There were numerous such close calls, but almost all of them occurred in the distant past. The Razorbacks haven’t won a conference title since joining the SEC in 1992, let alone challenged for a national championship.
