Byron Antron Leftwich (born January 14, 1980) is an American football coach and former quarterback who is the offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). He previously played in the NFL for ten seasons. Leftwich was selected seventh in the 2003 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars, after being twice named Mac Most Valuable Player at Marshall. He was a member of the Jaguars for four seasons before a one-season stint with the Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons. Leftwich also played four non-consecutive seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a backup to Ben Roethlisberger, where he was part of the Super Bowl winning team in Super Bowl XLIII.

Byron Leftwich Playing Career
Leftwich starred at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. He was the MVP of the 2000 Motor City Bowl. Leftwich gained recognition after quarterback’s 64-61 overtime win over East Carolina in the 2001 GMAC Bowl, in which he competed against future teammate David Garrard.
He is also remembered for being carried by linemen Steve Ciullo and Steve Peretta, breaking his shin, especially the left tibia, and returning to the game, taking Marshall to the field in several series. Rally the team for a 17-point return. against Akron in November 2002, although Marshall still lost 34–20.
