Weight loss

Robin Lehner knew he could stay at his old weight and continue to be a successful goaltender.

But after turning 30 in July, Lehner began to think about his long-term future. And the Golden Knights goaltender realized that changes needed to be made if he wanted to play beyond the four years left on his contract.

Lehner went to work reshaping his body and was noticeably trimmer when the Knights opened training camp at City National Arena on Thursday.

“People can argue about it, but the last three years I’ve been heavy,” Lehner said. “Here in Vegas they like it flashy, so I need to be a little fast. We’ll see what I can do.”

Lehner is listed on the NHL’s official website at 240 pounds, but he said he had gained weight in 2018 after being treated for drug and alcohol addiction. He mentioned his medication for his bipolar 1 condition, as one of the reasons for the weight gain.

Injury update

A sense of disrespect may be at the center of a rumor that Vegas goalkeeper Robin Lehner is calling things off for the season, Elliot Friedman said during a 32 Thoughts segment of Hockey Night in Canada on Saturday.

“Lehner, who was playing an injury, was upset by some of the criticism he had received, and was also being pulled the other night, and I believe he had informed the Golden Knights that he was going to have surgery, and it was stopped,” Friedman said.

Friedman said that things are still very up in the air with talks between Lehner, his agent and the team. The team said on Saturday that they expect Lehner to play against the San Jose Sharks on Sunday night. Lehner did not practice on Saturday.

“I think we’re going to find out (Sunday) night and see for sure where it’s all going,” Friedman said.

Lehner played five games after returning on April 3 with what the team termed a “lower body injury”, which is believed to be his knee.

Although Lehner has struggled with a .889 save percentage in the five games since his return, backup Logan Thompson has won seven of his last 10 decisions with a save percentage of .922.

Donya Nanny is Robin’s wife. She is of Persian origin. He has two children, a son and a daughter. Unfortunately, we don’t have details on when the two lovebirds got married or how long they were together. The information about how and where they met is also not available at the moment. We’ll update you as soon as Robin brings it out to the public.

As stated in the earlier paragraph, Robin married Donya Naini. Together, they had two children, a son and a daughter. Not much information has been provided about Robin’s children. It is therefore prudent to say that Mr. Robin Lehner is a private person with respect to his wife and children.
