Jordan Alexander Love is an American football quarterback for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League. He played college football at Utah State, and was drafted by the Packers in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Why is starting for the packers:
Rodgers played the entire first half, throwing two touchdown passes to Allen Lazard to go along with his 138 yards through the air on 14 of 18 completions. Despite his efficiency, Packers were down 17-13 at halftime.
Love took over at QB and threw for 134 yards on 10 of 17 completions, throwing just one TD pass to Josiah Deguara, who ran 62 yards for the score late in the fourth quarter. Packers took the lead as Love kept the ball to run the it into the end zone for the 2-point conversion.
Patrick Taylor Jr. had previously rushed in for a Green Bay touchdown, but none of it was enough to overcome Jared Goff and his two TD passes on 21 of 30 completions. After Packers took the lead late in the fourth, D’Andre Swift rushed in for a TD to secure the win right before Love’s two interceptions.

The Green Bay Packers don’t want to see backup quarterback Jordan Love again this season. Looking ahead to a first-round bye as the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC, that would mean something has gone wrong with Aaron Rodgers. No, the Packers don’t want to see Love again, but they did want to get a good hard look at him in Week 18’s clash with the Detroit Lions.
Remember, the Packers didn’t move up to pick Love at No. 26 in the first round just to get a high-level backup. They may ultimately try to spin it that way, but the lanky and athletic quarterback out of Utah State was meant to be the heir apparent to Rodgers.
The Packers were betting that Rodgers was on the way down the hill, and Love was handpicked by head coach Matt LaFleur and general manager Brian Gutekunst to be the quarterback of the future.
