Zilei Zhang bounced back from a loss in March and stopped Deontay Wilder with a fifth-round right hand in the main event of the Queensberry vs. Matchroom ‘5v5’ card on Saturday in Saudi Arabia.

Both fighters were returning from losses to former world champion Joseph Parker, each needing a win to remain as top contenders in the ever-evolving heavyweight division. Zhang does just that, while this fight could be the last time we see Wilder in the ring.

The fight was yet to heat up in Round 5 when, out of nowhere, Zhang caught Wilder with a strong right hand, spinning him around and clearly stunning him. Zhang jumped on Wilder and caught him with his back turned, delivering another heavy blow that sent Wilder down.

Wilder beat the count but the referee immediately waived the fight, which was no surprise given how cleanly Zhang landed the second right hand. Neither fighter had landed any real notable shots up to that point. Zhang pressured Wilder throughout the fight, getting relatively little response from “The Bronze Bomber”, but landing some important shots himself.
