Hopefully Alexander Hernandez is satisfied with the changes to the UFC 271 lineup.

There was some weight loss at the weigh-ins on Friday, one of which resulted in the cancellation of the fight outright. The oft-canceled flyweight match between former title challengers Alex Perez and Matt Schnell has been called off once again after Perez missed the weight, and Schnell did not accept the catchweight.

Light heavyweight William Knight missed the limit by a ridiculous 12 lbs, but this is light heavyweight so his fight with Maxim Grishin is going to escalate into a heavyweight bout. However, it no longer has its place on television’s preliminary card, and Knight vs. Grishin is now the only preliminary test.

As for Perez vs Schnell, that should have been on the ESPN Prelims but now Carlos Ulberg vs Fabio Charante gets bumped from the TV portion of the card, and Kyler Phillips vs Marcelo Rojo is booted from the pay-per-view. Look at the starting card and turn it down. This leaves Alexander Hernandez vs Renato Moicano with a jump from the opening prelims to the main card. You may recall that Hernandez was not happy with the initial placement of his matchup.

The event was expected to feature Invicta FC atomweight champions Michelle Waterson and Amanda Ribas. However, an undisclosed injury forced Waterson to withdraw in early March and the match was postponed to UFC 274. [15] At first, they were expected to meet at UFC 257, but Waterson withdrew from that match for unknown reasons. [16]

Leron Murphy and Nate Landwehr were expected to meet in a featherweight match. However, Murphy withdrew from the match for unknown reasons and was replaced by David Onama. In return, Landwehr had to withdraw from the bout and the bout was cancelled.

The undefeated middleweight Alishab Khizreev and Abusupyan Magomedov were expected to meet at the event. However, for unknown reasons Magomedov withdrew and was replaced by Denis Tylyulin.[21]

A featherweight bout between Tucker Lutz and Seung Woo Choi was scheduled for the event. [22] However, an undisclosed injury forced Choi to withdraw from the event and the bout was cancelled.

The event was expected to see a heavyweight bout between Alexei Olenik and Ilir Latifi. However, Latifi withdrew on the day of the event due to illness and the bout was cancelled.
