Tyrone Devine Matthews ( born May 13, 1992) is an American football security guard who is a free agent. He played college football for Louisiana State University (LSU). In college he developed a reputation for generating turnovers, setting a Southeast Conference (SEC) record with 11 career comps and earning the nickname “Honey Badger” after the mammal of the same name. In his sophomore season, he was recognized as a unanimous All-American, won the Chuck Bednaric Award as the best defensive player in college football, and was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. Matthews was dismissed from the LSU football program later that season due to team rules violations.

House

He is the undisputed star of the show in Kansas City.

The young quarterback with the golden arm isn’t far from his deluxe home in the city’s Country Club District just yet.

But after last year’s Super Bowl victory, Mahomes signed the league’s biggest ever contract: a 10-year, $503 million deal that would make most people reevaluate their real estate position.

So it wasn’t a huge surprise when he spoke with radio host Dan Patrick last week to let the housing news slip a bit.

Mahomes told Patrick that he had purchased a plot of land in the Kansas City area with plans to build a house with many amenities, including a half-football field.

Following this nugget of information, we tracked down an 8-acre lot we bought in the gated country club community of Loch Lloyd. The private community is centered around a lake and a golf course designed by Tom Watson.

Salary

The target prices for the 10 offensive players that had expired contracts were covered in an article earlier in the week. Attention now shifts to the other side of the ball.

Things will move forward next week when the exclusive negotiating rights NFL teams have with their impending free agents expire. Agents of potentially unrestricted free agents are allowed to interact with teams from 3:59:59 p.m. ET on March 14th. ET on March 16. Prospective UFAs who do not have an agent can also negotiate with the teams’ front office officials. Players cannot sign deals with new clubs until the 2022 league year and free agency officially begins at 4 p.m. ET on March 16. During this period a player is allowed to re-sign with his current club.

The Titans have already taken the lead, Harold Landry, off the board. He’s reportedly remaining in Tennessee on a five-year deal worth $87.5 million with $52.5 million guaranteed.

Team

Tyrone Matthews’ journey is finally coming full circle.

Ten years after the Heisman finalist was sacked from the Tigers football team by LSU and Les Miles, Matthews is returning to Louisiana to play for his hometown New Orleans Saints, according to a report from the NFL Network.

The Saints lost both of their opening safaris after the expected signing of Matthews, Marcus Williams signed with the Baltimore Ravens in mid-March, and Malcolm Jenkins announced his retirement on March 30.

The terms of Matthew’s deal in New Orleans were not immediately made available, as it has yet to be finalized, per the report. According to the NFLPA’s Public Salary Cap Report, the Saints have $20.372 million in cap room.

Trade

First, Washington has two regular-season games in 2022 tied by this trade, both facing the Philadelphia Eagles.

Still, even without the Saints on the schedule, what they do with their two picks now will have an impact on their actions on day two of the Washington NFL Draft and beyond.

The Saints are now the eighth team to make many first-round picks after this latest trade, and while traditional views push most to think that the team will now draft a quarterback to compete with Jamis Winston and grow , not all are sold on it. Maybe, given the state of NFC South, the Saints can only load as-is – with the “Honey Badger” part of the load.

For the Eagles, there appears to be a more clearly defined idea behind this trade.

Net Worth

Tyrone Matthews is on a $42 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs spanning three years. He received a signing bonus of $14.8 million in 2019 and also managed to garner $26.8 million with his total deal guaranteed. He takes home $14 million in basic salary each year.

Matthews first signed a four-year contract worth $3.05 million with the Arizona Cardinals. He also received a $817,187 guarantee and a signing bonus of $265,000. He later signed a one-year deal worth $7 million with the Houston Texans.
