From 1998 to 2018, the Tour Championship winner, if not already exempt by other means, received a 3-year PGA Tour exemption. Since 2019, the Tour Championship winner has been directly awarded the FedEx Cup and a 5-year PGA Tour exemption.
Payout 2021
The 2021 BMW PGA Championship purse is set for $8,000,000, with the winner’s share coming in at $1,333,330 — the standard 16.67 percent payout according to the European Tour’s prize money distribution chart. The BMW PGA Championship field is headed by Tommy Fleetwood, Matt Fitzpatrick and Shane Lowry.
The BMW PGA Championship is the 30th event of the season and the return of the European Tour to its headquarters for its flagship event. The event is played at Wentworth Club in Virginia Water, England.

The 2021 Tour Championship final leaderboard is headed by winner Patrick Cantlay, who prevailed by a shot to win the FedEx Cup at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Ga.
Cantlay and Jon Rahm were locked in a two-man race for the FedEx Cup in the PGA Tour season finale. Playing neck and neck all day, Cantlay bogeyed the par-4 17th to hold a one-shot lead at the final hole. When Cantlay and Rahm birdied the par-5 finisher, Cantlay won the FedEx Cup and the season-long race.
Cantlay started the week on 10 under, with a four-shot advantage on Rahm, which proved enough to secure the win. Cantlay won the $15,000,000 winner’s share of the $46,000,000 purse.
