Woods grew up in Orange County, California. He was a child prodigy who was introduced to golf by his athletic father, Earl Woods, before the age of two. Earl was a single-digit handicapped amateur golfer who was one of the early African-American college baseball players at Kansas State University. His father was a member of the military and had the privilege of playing at the Navy Golf Course next to the Joint Army Training Base in Los Alamitos, which allowed Tiger to play there. Tiger played at Par 3 Hartwell Golf Course in Long Beach as well as some municipalities in Long Beach.

Tee time 2nd round
Pair and tee times for second round games at the 2022 Masters have been officially set, and while groups will remain the same from round 1, there is a healthy reshuffle in the start times for Friday as we clear the field ahead of the weekend. Prepare to narrow. Between his final round of competitive golf at the Masters in November 2020 and this first round of the 2022 Masters, Woods had another back surgery and nearly lost his leg. So, what did he do after a year and a half off pro golf at the highest level? He went out and shot 1-under 71 to beat the field average by three.
Judging by Woods’ stature (best player ever), what he’s achieved at Augusta National (five green jackets, no misses in 21 tries as a pro) and the adversity he faced (“stuff” …which I don’t wish on anyone”), it is the 71 that will go down as one of the most remarkable tours in Masters history.
On paper, that’s a good score in a great tournament that could turn into something better later in the week. The paper is devoid of context, however, and requires reference to a man who almost needed a prosthetic leg to be able to walk again.
Round 2 tee time
Tiger Woods is making a surprise return to Augusta a year after being involved in an accident that left him ‘lucky to be alive’. Tiger Woods’ extraordinary comeback has clearly dominated the build-up to this year’s Masters. Less than a year after a fatal car accident, the golf legend is returning to the prestigious Augusta Course, where he has won five times in an illustrious career. Before the competition, Woods insisted, “I don’t get into an event until I think I can win it,” despite being able to walk for months after the accident.
Woods will begin his Masters 2022 campaign in Augusta at 11.04 a.m. (4.04 p.m. BST) on Thursday, April 7 with Louis Osthuizen and Joaquin Niemann. They were to start at 10.34 a.m. (3.34 a.m. BST), but all tee times were delayed by half an hour due to unfavorable weather. The trio have tee-time later on Friday for the second round, which will take place at 1.41 pm (6.41 pm BST).

Patrons were out in the thousands when Tiger Woods hit the first shot of his latest comeback on Thursday in the opening round of the 2022 Masters. And Tiger didn’t disappoint the many fans who had gathered to watch it all, with a clutch 10-foot putt grinding a key par on the opening hole.
It was a wild sight at the Holy Ground at Augusta National, and it only continued from there for the rest of the day, most notably when Woods made his first birdie of the day after nearly ace on the 6th hole.
