The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department explained about Tiger Woods’ cause of car accident Wednesdays, reporting that he approached a curve in the road, Tiger Woods apparently meant to hit the brakes but instead slammed on the gas, causing a high-speed rollover crash.

Six weeks after the golf legend’s leg injuries following the serious crash, Sheriff Alex Villanueva declared that the main causes of the crash were speed and Woods’ inability to negotiate a curve: the excessive speed of 82-87 mph in a 45-mph zone.

Tiger probably mistook the gas pedal for the brakes, according to Capt. James Powers.
