Referee
In short, he’s a journeyman catcher who worked his way to becoming an All-Star over a 10-year major league career. He has just one year of true coaching experience (last year as bullpen coach with the Seattle Mariners), which makes him the exact opposite of the situation he was in when Cleveland hired Francona.
But Vogt was much more than what was on the back of his baseball cards. He was known as a great teammate and quickly became a fan favorite in Oakland due to his everyman personality.
Meet Stephen Vogt, the new manager of the Guardians, replacing “Tito”.
That man is an impressionist. Vogt did his impression of an NBA referee on MLB Network and things took off from there. Fans began coming into the stands dressed as referees and the A’s even made bobbleheads for it.
Age
The age of Stephen Vogt is 39 years old.
