Wardell Stephen Curry II ( born March 14, 1988) is an American professional basketball player who is a point guard for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Wardell Stephen Curry II is the son of Sonya and Dell Curry. He was born in Akron, Ohio, at Summa Akron City Hospital (the same hospital where LeBron James had been born slightly over three years earlier), while his father was a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. He grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, where his father spent most of his NBA career with the Charlotte Hornets.

The Warriors are back in action on Tuesday when they head to New York to face the Knicks.
Initially, Curry’s availability for Golden State’s matchup with Indiana the day before was up in the air. On Dec. 10, NBA Insider Marc Stein reported that the Warriors were “weighing a night of rest” for the two-time MVP in Indiana. Two days later, The Athletic’s Anthony Slater reported that all of Golden State’s veterans were expected to play against Indiana, including Curry. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr then revealed after shootaround on Monday that Curry would play.
With the Warriors traveling to New York for the second game of a back-to-back set, Kerr joked that he was going to give Curry a night off.

The 32-year-old recently took to Instagram to share a rare photo of his three kids – daughter Riley, eight, and Ryan, five, and his son, two-year-old Canon – and fans couldn’t get enough!
Steph shared individual snapshots showing his young family, along with the caption: “Game day vibes!” The first image sees Riley beaming for the camera and wearing an oversized basketball top, with her long braids falling down her back. The next photo is of Ryan, who looks super sassy as she strikes a pose wearing sunglasses and with a sequined backpack.
The final snapshot shows little Canon bouncing on the trampoline in the family’s garden. The post proved to be a huge hit with Steph’s followers, racking up more than 1.1million likes. “They are all looking so grown up Stephen!” one wrote, while a second simply wrote: “Squad.” A third joked: “Ryan is a whole mood!”

On June 25, 2009, Curry was selected with the seventh overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft by the Golden State Warriors. He appeared in 80 games (77 starts) during the 2009–10 season, averaging 17.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 1.90 steals in 36.2 minutes. His second half of the season vaulted him into the rookie of the year race. He was named Western Conference Rookie of the Month for January, March and April, finishing as the only Western Conference rookie to win the award three times. He finished runner-up for the NBA Rookie of the Year Award behind Tyreke Evans and was a unanimous NBA All-Rookie First Team selection, becoming the first Warriors player since Jason Richardson in 2001–02 to earn All-Rookie First Team honors.
