Wife due date
Scotty Scheffler is flying solo at the Masters this week, and with good reason.
His wife, Meredith, who usually travels with him during competitions, is back home in Dallas awaiting the birth of their first child later this month.
“It’s a little strange,” he said Friday, acknowledging that this is the first tournament without him in quite some time. “She’s obviously my biggest supporter, and I’ve definitely missed having her here. But it’s an exciting time in our lives, and yes, luckily she’s still home and feeling good, so we’re grateful for that.
After shooting 1-under 71 at Augusta National on Saturday to take the lead by one stroke after 54 holes, Scheffler once again confirmed that if his wife goes into labor he will play in the 88th edition of the Masters under any circumstances. Will leave. When asked in detail about his plan on Saturday evening, he said, “There is definitely some way to reach home early. We have someone here who has access to his cell phone, if that’s OK.” He turned to the Masters member conducting the press conference as if making sure that would be allowed. “And yes, when I’ll be available to go home whenever I need you.”
Putting coach
He’s a very good putter.” On his way to sign his scorecard, Scheffler stopped to give his putting coach, Phil Kenyon, a bear hug and lifted him off the ground.
Wife pregnant
Scotty Scheffler had a special message for his wife Meredith after winning big this week.
On April 14, the golf star won the 2024 Masters in Augusta, Georgia, finishing the tournament -11 to secure his second major championship. In a victory speech, he spoke directly to Meredith – who did not attend the tournament because she is pregnant with her first child.
“I love you sweetheart,” he said on Instagram, according to Golf Digest. “I’m excited for the next few weeks. Hopefully I can get home as soon as possible.”
