On Monday, February 20, 2023, another member of the UNLV Rebels team found him dead at approximately 1:10 a.m. in his Las Vegas studio apartment. Las Vegas police officers were called to the scene shortly thereafter.

Last season, the Nazareth Academy graduate moved from Rutgers University to UNLV. He played in seven games and made eight tackles. He was highly sought after and received dozens of scholarship offers right out of high school. He was studying business and had a 3.80 GPA.
Suicide
The cause of Ryan Keeler’s sudden death is still unknown. While the 911 call was initially handled as a medical call, Las Vegas authorities are investigating the sudden death of Ryan Keeler.
The Clark County coroner’s office listed his time of death as 4:05 p.m., and said Ryan Keeler’s cause and manner of death were pending, as blood toxicology results could take several weeks.
Las Vegas Police Officer Robert Wicks also said that the investigation into Ryan Keeler’s death remained open, pending the autopsy report from the coroner and detective findings. The police do not suspect foul play.
