In fact, for the first three games of the 2018 season, he served as the acting head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Having attended the University of New Hampshire, he took the role of quarterback and linebacker for the Wildcats football team between 1998 and 2001 before embarking on his coaching career, which began in 2002.

Ryan Day: Post Game| Interview| Fired

Following the controversial tussle which broke out in the middle of the pitch after the Buckeyes lost to Michigan in this tournament’s edition of The Game, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day came out in defense of his players.

The fracas began when players from Univeristy of Michigan attempted to stick their M flag into the Block O during the game’s 50-yard mark when University of Ohio State players tried to stop them. As a result, there was a ‘melee’ in which many players and onlookers were doused in the pepper spray of a policeman who had to intervene.

“I don’t know all the details of it,” So Day when asked on his players’ actions: “day said he would never go into such depth.”

“But I know that these guys are looking to put a flag on our field and our guys weren’t going to let that happen.” Eventual head coach Ryan Day continues inspiring respect and consideration – even sarcasm: “I will find out what happened, this is our field and the fact that we lost the match is very humiliating. Of course the boys in our squad have some pride and were not going to allow it.”

Interview

Ohio State lost to Michigan and this marks the fourth consecutive loss for the Buckeyes to Wolverines in this rivalry so now players, coaches, and fans have to deal with the aftermath. OSU head coach Ryan Day understands what this game means and his emotions were evident whereas he met the media post-match to face the music.

He also talked about quite a number of factors that played into the outcome of the match in a negative manner such as their lack of ability to advance with the ball, red zone execution and most of all being to do enough to send all those seniors that came back for the one last season the way they wanted to be sent.

For Day, this press conference was quite grave indeed and you can see all of his remarks here if you happened to miss any of them. The video originates from the CBS subsidiary WBNS 10TV based in Columbus.

See and hear Day as he responds to hearing about his future, why there is no improvision on the offensive side according to the game, the post-match fight after Michigan tried to plant the flag in the centre of the stadium and much more.

Fired

‘Any’ loss feels painful these days in Columbus as Ohio State is once more one of the top candidates in the race for the College Football Playoff. This time, however, it is slightly more difficult to digest a disappointing defeat against their longtime rivals who are unranked Michigan.

In the match that had a combined four interceptions, two field-goal attempts that did not score, and post-match chaos on the field, number two ranked Ohio State was defeated by unranked Michigan with the score of 13–10 in Ohio Stadium which had been sold out to its fullest before the end of the contest.

This marked Ohio State’s fourth successive defeat in the latest showdown with Michigan, having last tasted victory in 2019. Conversely, the Wolverines are now enjoying their longest unbeaten run in this rivalry since the 1988-93 period. This six-year period saw Michigan win five out of six matches, with one draw in 1992.

Last defeat of the match was by the teams Ohio State, this was the Buckeyes second lost during the year. Ohio State still has a chance in the 12 teams College Football Playoffs bracket, and they are confident about winning the National Championships in the next few weeks.
