Results
The 7-2 winner won the Albany Stakes at Ascot a year ago and was second in the 1,000 Guineas last month.
Winning trainer Donnacha O’Brien overtook her record-breaking sire Aidan, who finished runner-up, while favorite Ramatuelle finished third and Guinness winner Elmalka was fourth.
Inisherin, ridden by Tom Eaves for trainer Kevin Ryan, was a convincing winner of the Commonwealth Cup.
18 years after entering the Wokingham Handicap with Big Timer, Inisherin justified the favoritism at odds of 9–4 giving Eves his second career Royal Ascot winner.
It was the third consecutive year the Yorkshire-based trainer had won the Group One six-furlong sprint and Ryan plans to target Inisherin in the July Cup at Newmarket.
Teenage jockey Billy Loughnane took his second win at the meeting aboard George Boughey’s 14-1 shot Soprano in the Sandringham Stakes.
The 18-year-old rider, nicknamed ‘Billy the Kid’, said this week was “getting better and better” after Tuesday’s win over 80-1 outsider Rashabar.
Joe Fanning, 35 years Loughnane’s senior, rode Pilgrim (18-1) to victory in the Palace of Holyroodhouse Stakes for father and daughter David and Nicola Barron.
