Instead of losing out to Syndergaard as one of the top MLB free agents in 2023, the Front Office has begun exploring its options. While many teams are believed to be interested in acquiring him, if the price is right, there are concerns about the league.

According to ESPN’s Jeff Passon, the front offices around MLB are “wary” of Syndergaard’s fluctuating velocity this season. Concerns have been raised by his shaky results on a start-to-start basis, suggesting he may not be the reliable front-line starter he once was for the New York Mets.

What happened to

On September 28, when Noah Syndergaard exited the dugout and headed to the Citi Field mound for the first time in two years, the home crowd roared. His team may have fallen out of contention post-season, but his beloved pitcher was back. Syndergaard later said that he “almost shed a little tear.”

And after the game, a reporter asked Syndergaard – a soon-to-be free agent – if he thought that night would have marked his final performance in front of home fans.

Wife

Noah Syndergaard is not married. Although he is rumored to be dating “Call Her Daddy” podcast host Alexandra Cooper.
Cooper was born on August 21, 1994, in Pennsylvania to Brian Cooper and Laurie Cooper. It is believed that after finishing college he developed an interest in controversy building. Her first known job was as an anchor for Dirty Water Media and she is said to have met her co-host of “Call Her Daddy”, Sophia Franklin, who took a vacation in 2016.

Injury

In May 2020, Syndergaard, nicknamed Thor, underwent Tommy John surgery to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament, his most recent in a long string of injuries. This sidelined him for most of the 2020 season and 2021 season, although he faced several setbacks along the way.

Syndergaard last pitched in the major leagues on September 29, 2019, when he scored seven for three in five hits in a 7-6 win over Atlanta. Curiously, it was also the Mets finale that season. It was also the last time Syndergaard scored a full season in the majors without spending any time on the injured list.

Once those setbacks began, there were doubts as to whether Syndergaard would ever pitch for the Mets again, especially after a significant delay in his rehab this summer. The 29-year-old right-handed batsman has spent several stints on the injured list in his career, including time on the injured list for 60 days in 2017, where he was sidelined from May 1 to September 23.
