Nick Chubb knee injury: College| Monday night football| MNF
Nick Chubb has spent the better part of a decade as the heart and soul of the Cleveland Browns.
There is no more respected player in the locker room. There is no player more committed than him on the field.
All of which made the sight of the star running back — his left kneecap shattered, his season over — gut-wrenching in the second quarter of Monday night’s 26-22 loss to Pittsburgh.
“It’s (expletive) sad,” defensive end Myles Garrett said.

Monday night football
The Steelers have now won 21 consecutive home games on Monday Night Football. Pittsburgh’s last home loss on the MNF was against the Giants on October 14, 1991.
NOTE: The Steelers lost to the Commanders in a Monday home game in 2020, which was delayed from the previous day due to COVID. However, it was not an official MNF game.

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb suffered a season-ending “significant” knee injury during the second quarter of Monday night’s 26-22 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to coach Kevin Stefanski.
The All-Pro rusher injured his left knee after a 5-yard run at the Steelers’ 3-yard line. Chubb’s legs bent awkwardly beneath him while being tackled. He was immediately ruled out, and Stefanski confirmed the severity of the injury after the Browns’ loss.
According to Stefanski, Chubb was taken to a local hospital as a precaution and then returned to Cleveland before the team played.
Pittsburgh All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, who helped tackle Chubb, was injured in the same game but returned to the field. He was later carted off in the third quarter with a chest injury.
Chubb had already rushed for 64 yards on 10 carries. He was replaced by Jerome Ford, who caught a touchdown pass on the next play.
While Chubb was being loaded onto the vehicle, players from both the teams gathered around him.
The injured left knee is the same one Chubb rebuilt after tearing his MCL, PCL and LCL in Georgia in 2015.
