The Panthers’ season has headed in the wrong direction, leading to some early cases of Sam Darnold remorse. Carolina needs Christian McCaffrey in the worst possible way, but it doesn’t matter. Matt Ryan has 10 TDs and one interception in the final four games of the Falcons. The home team wins this NFC South matchup.

Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills (-13.5)
Sunday, 1 p.m., CBS
Buffalo had a one-week bye and crushed the Dolphins 35-0 in Week 2. Tua Tagovailoa left that game with an injury. He has completed 74.7 percent of his passes in the last two weeks in his heart-wrenching loss. It won’t be good enough against the Bills, but this time close.

San Francisco 49ers (-3.5) at Chicago Bears
Sunday, 1 p.m., Fox
The 49ers are a road favorite against the Bears, who continue to struggle on offense. However, keep in mind that 49ers are -7 to turnover ratio. Justin Fields plays a bit neat at home in this, and he makes some dazzling plays in the open space. Bears coach Matt Nagy is away from critics for at least another week.

Power rankings week 8 2021
Like most of the population, the NFL power rankings don’t like to admit when we’re wrong. So it was a little hard to pick up on this week’s topic, as we asked our NFL Nation writers to pick an idea about their team this season that didn’t play out the way they expected.
These missed predictions run the gamut, from positive to negative to false ideas about players, position groups and plans. Some players have exceeded expectations (how about wide receiver Christian Kirk and, for that matter, the undefeated Arizona Cardinals?) and some haven’t (will Baker Mayfield and Odell Beckham Jr. ever be right?). Didn’t think the Buffalo Bills’ defense would be as good as it was before, we thought the Washington football team’s defense would be much better than its performance, and yes, we thought the Detroit Lions would win by now (though Despite being fair, they have been very close at times). We are usually right, but sometimes, you have to admit something is wrong.
