Player heat stroke
According to the Mayo Clinic, heatstroke is caused by overheating of the body, “usually as a result of prolonged exposure to high temperatures, or physical exertion.”
The Mayo Clinic refers to it as “the most severe form of heat injury.” It occurs when the body temperature rises to 104 degrees or more. Untreated heatstroke can quickly damage a person’s brain, heart, kidneys, and muscles.
Alternate helmets 2022
NFL teams are ready to rock out to some alternative helmets and jerseys for the 2022 season.
Keeping teams safe is the league’s most important policy, helmets must fit properly on players and meet all safety protocols to be approved.
In 2021, the league approved the return of optional helmets and fans across the country and some new designs and looks are slated to return.
In 2013, the NFL removed the rule allowing teams to wear more than one helmet due to safety concerns.
