Illness
Bossi announced that he was diagnosed with lung cancer on October 19, 2021. Bossi took a leave of absence from his role as an analyst for the Montreal-based network TVA to receive treatment. However, he died in Montreal on April 15, 2022.
Bossi, who revealed his illness in October, is regarded as one of the greatest goal scorers in NHL history and a key element of the Islanders dynasty that played four consecutive terms from 1980 to 1983. Won the Stanley Cup.

Bossy won the Calder Memorial Trophy as the NHL Rookie of the Year in 1978 when he set the record for most goals scored by a rookie with 53. She won the Conn Smyth Trophy as the Most Valuable Player and Lady in the 1982 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Three times the Bing trophy for combining high quality play with sportsmanship. He led the NHL in goals twice and finished second on a further three times. Bossy was voted into the league’s first All-Star team as a right-winger five times, plus three more selections for the second All-Star team.
