Michael Massey has been sacked as Formula One racing director following an investigation into his handling of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in December.
Messi made a mistake in ending the title dispute between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton last year. The race was swiftly settled with a one-lap sprint, which saw Verstappen lead Hamilton to win the title after Messi incorrectly applied the safety car restart rules.
