Why was Michael Jordan a better 3-point shooter than Kobe Bryant?

When it comes to the myriad ways Kobe Bryant falls short of Michael Jordan, many fans are overwhelmed. There can only be one hope at this point to illustrate how Bryant was better than Jordan in at least one category: three point shooting.

I completely disagree; In fact, when you compare two players who have shot roughly the same percentage (Kobe 33.9 percent / MJ 32.7 percent) from 3-point range for their careers, you have to break it down to who shot all three more effectively. and used at the right time.

The NBA 3-point line has been changed over the years, but in any given season, making one in three is considered “good.”

In 1979–80, the NBA adopted the 3-point shot. During the 1994–95, 1995–96, and 1996–97 seasons, the NBA attempted to address the deficit in scoring by shortening the line’s distance to a uniform 22 feet (6.7 m) around the basket. From the 1997–98 season, the NBA returned the line to its original distance of 23 feet, 9 inches (22 feet at the corners).

Michael Jordan played only two full seasons where the three point shot line was short.

NBA legend Michael Jordan talks about why he never insisted on a 3-point shot. The 6x NBA champion believed this would change his playing style.

Michael Jordan is arguably one of the best scorers in NBA history. A 10x scoring champion who is the all-time leader in PPG. Interestingly, despite being such an elite scorer, MJ never focused on developing his 3-point game.

In his 15 seasons in the NBA, Jordan shot 32.7% from outside the arc, averaging 1.7 attempts per game. The superstar had his most efficient 3-point shooting during the 1994–95 season, averaging 50%. However, the former DPOY averaged 1.9 attempts per game.

The place where fans got used to seeing Michael Jordan during his fairytale sports career was a cereal box in grocery stores.

The Bulls Hall of Famer often appeared in front of Wheat during his time in the game when the six-time NBA champion and five-time MVP were in their prime. Now in 2021, fans will get a chance to see the icon on the cereal box again.

This week, Wheaties announced that Jordans will be featured in two boxes to celebrate the brand’s 100th anniversary. This includes a special Gold Foil Edition that went on sale Tuesday and can be purchased in store or online here.

Wheaties has already brought out a special edition box celebrating fellow sports icon Muhammad Ali.

This is the 19th time Jordan has appeared in front of the box for cereal, the first being in 1988 when he won his first NBA MVP award.
