How much is contract
PSG, who have won a Ligue 1 title for a record tenth time but have angered their staunch supporters with Real’s Champions League last 16 exit, have fought to capture their biggest asset.
Spain’s La Liga president Javier Tebas bitterly complained on Saturday that the huge financial resources of PSG’s Qatari owners had proved decisive in convincing Mbappe to stay in France.
Tebas tweeted, “What is PSG doing by refurbishing Mbappe with the big bucks… after a 700million euro loss in the most recent season and a 600m plus salary bill, it’s an insult to football is.”
La Liga announced in a statement that it was launching an official complaint about PSG’s actions to “UEFA, the French administrative and financial authorities and the appropriate decision-making bodies of the European Union”.
New contract salary
Paris Saint-Germain finally convinced Kylian Mbappe to pick him over Real Madrid.
It was officially confirmed on Saturday that Mbappe had signed a new contract at PSG, after rejecting an “almost identical” offer from Real.
Mbappe had a little over a month left on his current PSG contract, so a move to Real would have been on a free transfer.
It would have been anything but free.
Although Real would not have paid PSG a transfer fee, Mbappe’s sign-on fee alone was set to exceed two transfer fees for all times in football history.
It is understood that, because PSG’s and Real’s offers were similar, Mbappe is yet to receive such payment.
Mbappé is set to receive a €150 million fee for signing his new deal with PSG, according to journalist and Spanish football expert Guillaume Balag. That figure does not include his salary.
new salary
Italian football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Paris Saint-Germain overtook Real Madrid to extend Kylian Mbappe. While many speculate that the 23-year-old will sign a short-term deal, SportItalia correspondent Tancredi Palmeri has shared information that this may not happen.
According to Palmeri, PSG’s offer to Mbappe will net €60-million per year, plus a signing bonus of €120-million, divided over the five years of the contract, totaling €84-million per year.
Furthermore, he added that the new deal for the France international would destroy the record for the highest salary ever held by Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo with €60 million.
The deal would mean that Mbappe is at the heart of the PSG project, and has a salary equivalent. Still, if the terms of the extension are given years, it would at least keep him in his hometown until his mid-20s, which would be unexpected given the rumored offers.
