Michael McCorkle “Mac” Jones (born September 5, 1998) is an American football quarterback for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football in Alabama, where he set NCAA season records for passer ratings and completion percentage as a junior en route to winning the 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship. Selected by the Patriots in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Jones became their starter at the start of his rookie season.

Interview

When Peyton Manning asks for an interview, you take it, don’t you? New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones did just the opposite.

Jones had a chance to speak to Manning on Monday as the Patriots prepare to face the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football. Instead he opted to prepare for the game. The Patriots would beat the Bills by a margin of 14-10.

Jones wanted to make sure he was locked in, as he continues to lead the Patriots in the AFC standings. The team currently sits at 9–4, and is the top seed in the AFC. Jones had a goal in mind.

Rookie card

In an NFL draft class filled with top quarterbacks, Mack Jones quickly established himself as the frontrunner. This has resulted in a major push for Mack Jones rookie cards.

Coming out of Alabama, he was considered one of the top names in the 2021 class. However, he was ultimately the fifth QB, slipped to 15th overall by the New England Patriots.

This could be a huge break for the Patriots. Based on his early success, there are already many comparisons to Tom Brady. While they are huge shoes to fill, they have clearly claimed the top spot in the 2021 NFL rookie card hierarchy.

Interception

In the 2021 regular season, Micah Hyde and Jordan Poore at the Buffalo Bills had the NFL’s best security pairing, and there really isn’t much room to argue. Per Pro Football Focus, Hyde allowed 18 catches on 26 goals for 205 yards, 38 yards after catches, two touchdowns, five interceptions, and an opponent passer rating of 78.8. Poir was even better, allowing 13 catches on 27 goals for 61 yards, 40 yards after catches, no touchdowns, five interceptions, and an opponent passer rating of 19.6, which is absolutely ridiculous.

But Hyde swooped in out of nowhere to rule out that possibility.

Jones’ girlfriend, Sophie Scott, recently shared a video of herself extinguishing a flaming pizza tray while pleading for help from the New England rookie quarterback. No one was hurt during the dinner debacle, the couple told P.F. Chang later.
