Lauren Burnett was born into a Christian family in Virginia, United States. She was a student-athlete. Lauren James was a softball player at Madison University. She was a standout player for the university and was recently voted the CAA Softball Player of the Year.

Lauren Burnett completed her schooling at a local school in Virginia. He was then accepted into James Madison University (JMU) for his higher education, where he graduated.

Gersh was founded in 1949 by Phil Gersh in Beverly Hills. He was considered one of the final links between the Golden Age of Hollywood and today’s corporate-owned film business, and his clients included Humphrey Bogart, David Niven, William Holden, June Ellison, Richard Burton, Lee J. Cobb, Fredrik March. Gloria Graham, James Mason, Karl Malden and Robert Wise. In 1965, Phil Gersh was able to pay for the agency’s Beverly Hills office with proceeds to direct The Sound of Music by Robert Wise. 

Phil Gersh gradually passed the responsibility to his two sons but continued to manage the company until 10 weeks before his death in 2004. Richard Earluck worked at the agency from 1990 to 2008. 

In 2010, Gersh purchased literary agents Hohman, Maybanks, Lieb, along with a portfolio of authors including Robert Rodat, Katherine Fugate, Dave Reynolds, Ken Hixon, Sam Harper, Ben Ripley, David Scarpa, Geoff Rodkey, Marlene King and Allison Burnett.
