Drink driving

Without giving his details to the owner of the fourth car, he was picked up and taken to an estate in South Yarra, where he continued to drink.

Police showed up at the property a few hours later, where they found empty UDL boxes. Hunter performed a breath test that returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.123.

When questioned by police he told them: “Does it matter that I came here and I was drinking, do I have anything to say on that? I don’t know what to say.”

Hunter’s attorney, Rob Starry, told the court that his client had an “unblemished record” in addition to the speeding ticket he had six years earlier.

He said Hunter had contacted his employer, Western Bulldogs, shortly after the incident to find out what had happened and took full responsibility for the accident.

The club fined him $5,000 and was suspended for four AFL matches.

Car crash

Western Bulldogs star Lachey Hunter is facing $150,000 in damages as he seeks to fight police charges for leaving the scene of an accident Thursday night.

Police were called after Hunter allegedly rammed his Toyota SUV into four parked cars in Middle Park. When the officers arrived, the Toyota was found but the driver had left the spot.

Young gun Bailey Smith is thought to have taken Hunter to Billy Gowers’ South Yarra home. When police found him after the accident, Hunter returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.123. The repair bill is reported by Sen 1116 at $150,000.
