Nearly one year later, the facts surrounding the crash – from the pilot’s experience, to the weather conditions, to the helicopter’s safety features – are known. And a final determination on what caused the crash is now just weeks away.

The National Transportation Safety Board is set to release its final report on the incident on Feb. 9, including a proximate cause and subsequent safety recommendations.

In the meantime, the board has released 1,852 pages of factual evidence collected during its investigation, including interview transcripts, email records, text messages, photos, meteorological reports and video footage from cameras in the area.

Last words:

Kobe shared some last words of wisdom and motivation before his heartbreaking death.

“Hello everyone, I’m so sorry can’t be with you tonight,” he said in a video posted on Twitter. “However, I couldn’t completely miss the chance to take a moment to share some thoughts with all of you.

“The lesson that I cherish is how important is to do what you love to do. If you love what you do and it makes you happy, all the hard work and perseverance will pay off.”

“Continuing to move the game forward,” the late NBA star tweeted in the early hours of January 26th 2020. “Much respect my brother.”

People never know what their last words will be but it’s important to show the people you love and admire how much they mean to you.
