The microphone was handed to the winner of contest to announce the first of the Redskins’ two fourth-round picks in 2012.

“The Washington Redskins select Kirk Cousins, quarterback, Michigan State, with the 102nd pick in the draught,” Bridget Dowd reported.

In Holland, Michigan, the Cousins family room fell silent.

It was completely silent. Damned quiet.

Cousins and his family had not expected him to advance past the second round, let alone the third.
They did not expect seven quarterbacks to be selected ahead of him, including one, Nick Foles, whom Cousins had defeated at Michigan State.
They hoped that one of the quarterback-needy teams that had expressed interest in him, such as the Cardinals, Bills, or Eagles, would sign him and make him the franchise quarterback.

The Minnesota Vikings have had three MVP winners in their history.
Adrian Peterson in 2012, Alan Page in 1971, Fran Tarkenton in 1975, and Alan Page in 1971.
Could Kirk Cousins win the MVP award again in Minnesota in 2022?

There is lot of excitement surrounding the Vikings as the start of the new season approaches.
There is certainly some excitement building in Minnesota, with new general manager, new head coach, revamped coaching staff, and new faces on the roster.
The hype is coming not only from Vikings fans, but also from members of the national media.
Some of the recent hype has focused on Cousins and his potential this season.
