The athlete, who also did significant work behind the scenes in World Championship Wrestling, died on Friday. The cause of death was not immediately released; However, according to the GoFundMe campaign, Sullivan was involved in a “catastrophic accident” in Florida on May 12, and was diagnosed with sepsis and encephalitis even after undergoing emergency surgery.

Kevin’s first and only wife was Nancy Benoit (née Toffoloni), whom he met during a photoshoot for Sports Review Wrestling. At the time, Nancy was a young model appearing in several wrestling magazines and attending many matches to hand out flyers.
