Justin Tucker: Miss| What happened to| Missed field goals

It was clear on Sunday that all eyes were on Justin Tucker, but for all the wrong reasons.

The multiple hacked hailed for his ability, the kicker for Baltimore Ravens, did not live up to the high standard set as he struggled on the big occasion and missed two field goals and an extra point as against Philadelphia Eagles during their head-to-head match on Sunday. Tucker missed two field-goals and an extra point. Bill Barnwell of ESPN claims Tucker missed the exact same set of kicks during the whole seasons of 2012, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2019 and simply a little more during the 2021 season.

The thirty-five-year-old has cemented his place amongst the best kickers in history but what a nightmare 2024 has been. With only 19 of 27 attempts being a success with the field goal and 42 out of 44 when it comes to the extra points. And now, the 35-year-old’s field goal percentage is just 70.4. His career low of 82.5 was recorded back in 2015.

What happened to

Baltimore Ravens supporters have seen astonishing sights over the year but nothing to the extent the great Justin Tucker produced on Sunday in the heavy 24-19 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles. This sounds weird because Justin Tucker is regarded as one of the top kickers of the NFL. But on Sunday he only managed to successfully convert two extra points and missed two field goals that could’ve sealed the victory for Baltimore.

Such a situation is not new for this franchise as Tucker this entire week had to endure a lot of setbacks. This was however probably the worst of all… Tucker oldest and most liked fan was clanked off the left pole whilst kicking an extra point. This prevented the Ravens from this early lead of 10-0. Adding salt to an injury, Tucker tried to kick a 47 and a 53 yarder that also went wide left and right respectively. He had however made two of his attempts from 34 and 50 yards earlier in the game.

Missed field goals

The Ravens players were still backing Justin Tucker after what clearly was the low point of his long and decorated career as a Pro Bowl Kicker.

Tucker’s two missed field goals and a missed extra point were the differences in the game against the Eagles, which ended with the Ravens going down 24-19. This was the first time in his thirteen seasons in the NFL that three missed kicks happened in a game for Tucker.

Only, a period of three months later, he had been derided to the extent that there were doubts whether he even belonged on the team, considering what used to be an honor previously being the best kicker in history.

‘We’re not moving on from Justin Tucker,’ put words into perspective Ravens coach John Harbaugh, when asked about if there were plans to move on from Tucker. ‘I don’t think that would be wise.’

After Tuckers extra-point ringed off the upright after hitting the left post, he had two opportunities to put Baltimore ahead in the 3rd quarter . He attempted a 47-yard field goal with the Ravens behind 14-12 and started on a 53-yard try only to see both attempts sail to the left. The high snap did not excuse Tucker.
