Hamstring

Justin Jefferson: Hamstring| Fined| Why is not playing

Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs and it is unclear at this time when he will return.

Head coach Kevin O’Connell said in the post-game press conference that it was “still too early” to know the exact extent of Jefferson’s injury and his potential timeline for returning to play.

A source confirmed to PFT that Jefferson is set to undergo further testing on his hamstring on Monday.

“It was difficult for him. He’s the ultimate competitor,” O’Connell said. “We’ll get him back as quickly as possible.”

Jefferson had three catches for 28 yards before exiting the contest.

Now at 1-4, the Vikings will be on the road to play the 1-4 Bears next Sunday.

Fined

Jefferson was fined $10,927 for taunting cornerback De’Shawn Jamison by making a “too small” gesture after a 30-yard touchdown catch in an October 1 win at Carolina.

Why is not playing

Jefferson limped to the Vikings’ sideline after the fourth quarter of the play, prompting backup wideout Brandon Powell to replace him.

He was initially evaluated in the blue medical tent on the Vikings sideline. Minnesota has announced that Jefferson is questionable to return due to a hamstring injury.
