Released
The Tennessee Titans released seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Julio Jones after a season on Thursday, naming him as a post-June 1 release to make up for much-needed salary cap space.
When is coming back
Jones joins forces with Tom Brady and the Bucks to score another run at a Super Bowl. The veteran, who has been disfigured by injuries over the past two seasons, signed a one-year deal with Tampa Bay as camps were opening. Jones averaged 4.3 receptions per game, scored four touchdowns and missed 14 games in the 2000 and 2001 seasons. Serving as a supplementary substitute in a stellar passing game at age 33 could be a ticket to a great exit, even though we can assume he’ll never be a star during the first nine years of his career. Therefore he should not be selected until later rounds, if at all, in the Fantasy Draft.
Hamstring
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Julio Jones sustained another hamstring injury and skipped Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third quarter. He didn’t hold back, and the Titans fell 19-13, when they were all out 16-0 in the final 18-plus minutes.
Jones played in his second game since he returned from injured reserve, which caused him to miss three competitions. He logged a limited number of Snaps in his first game with the idea that his workload would increase for the remainder of the regular season. Now, it is unclear what he may have been able to contribute before and after the Titans got there.
Jones was targeted only once in the competition against Pittsburgh, and the pass was incomplete. With this their streak of 134 straight games played with reception will come to an end.
How many games has missed
Jones missed three games due to a hamstring injury.
