I Is not Gonna Lie. I love this whole Josh Gordon KC. Chief. This puts me in ardent fan territory right now, but I like any type of low-risk move that has the potential for even a moderate level of return. I also love the idea of chiefs pouring some petrol on the fire of this already raging crime.
In case you were curious how I felt about the signing of Josh Gordon, I posted on Twitter a few days ago when it was noted that Gordon could potentially be reinstated by the National Football League after serving more than one suspension. was ready to be. One year for violation of the league’s substance abuse policy.
But my take is only one of many. There are innumerable voices in the crowd that have differing opinions about Josh Gordon these days. There are also differing opinions about the needs of the Kansas City Chiefs and/or the way the team should strive to improve its roster and future performance. It all makes a lot of sense for a team after two consecutive losses in the first three games, especially when the off-season talks were about going 20-0.

Currently, apart from Davante Adams, the Packers have Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Alan Lazard, Randall Cobb, Amari Rodgers and Malik Taylor on their roster. Cobb is the biggest name on the list, but he only had one 1000-yard season in 2014.
With coverage steadily moving toward Adams, the Packers would benefit with his ability to stretch the field to sign receivers like Gordon.
Gordon would be a perfect fit for the Packers as he is a speedster with a proven record of success as an NFL wide receiver.

Josh Gordon will reportedly sign with the Kansas City Chiefs as soon as Monday night, now that his application for reinstatement has been approved by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Since fantasy football managers have until Tuesday night to decide whether to claim the discount on the former All-Pro wide receiver, we asked Chief NFL Nation reporter Adam Teacher and some of our ESPN fantasy analysts for their thoughts. I asked what to expect from Gordon in his new surroundings, and whether he was worth a flight.
First, we went to Teicher to ask what he expects of the role of Gordon.
Teicher: I’d expect Gordon to be WR2 as soon as he’s ready to pace the offense. I would also expect that once that happens he will have more goals than any other leading receiver apart from Tyrek Hill and Travis Kells. Major Macaulay Hardman are trying to fill the spot with a combination of DeMarcus Robinson and Byron Pringle, but none of them are consistently performing well.
Then, we turned to the fantasy crew.
NFL
Gordon made an early impact in the NFL, leading the league in receiving yards during its 2013 season, which earned him Pro Bowl and first-team All-Pro honors. Over the next four years, however, Gordon played only 11 games for the Browns due to his substance abuse suspension and missed the entirety of the 2015–2016 season. He was traded to the Patriots in 2018, but voluntarily left the active roster amid a possible indefinite suspension from the NFL. Gordon returned the following season with the Patriots and Seahawks, before being suspended indefinitely for a substance abuse violation. His indefinite suspension was reaffirmed in 2021 after the league determined that he had breached the terms of the conditional reinstatement. After an indefinite suspension, he signed with the FCF. He will be reinstated in September 2021.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the NFL has reinstated All-Pro wide receiver Josh Gordon, who may be eligible to play until Week 4.
“We are grateful that the NFL appreciates Josh’s work and has now earned him another chance to be a part of this league,” his agent said in a statement to Shafter. “We’re proud of Josh, and I know all the fans can’t wait to see him on Sunday.”
Gordon was suspended indefinitely for violating the league’s substance abuse policy in December 2019 and was eventually reinstated conditionally in December 2020. But as he geared up to practice with Seattle, his reinstatement was canceled in January.
ESPN previously reported that he had suffered a setback in his substance abuse recovery. In July, Gordon reportedly filed for reinstatement, and Schaffter reported at the time that the league randomly tested Gordon for a few months, and that he passed each test.
The veteran wide receiver signed a one-year deal with the Seahawks in 2020, but now with his reinstatement, it is unknown where he will land. Gordon has reportedly been vaccinated for COVID-19 and is ready to play, according to ESPN.

The Kansas City Chiefs fell 1-2 in a 30-24 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, but they’re reportedly making an extra that could help the offense in a big way. On Monday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Chiefs plan to sign recently reinstated Josh Gordon.
Just a few days earlier, it was reported that the NFL had told the troubled wide receiver that he would be reinstated, and could return to the field of play by Week 4. Gordon applied for reinstatement in the league in July. He was suspended in December 2019 for breaches of the league’s substance abuse and performance-enhancing drug policies – Gordon’s fifth violation of the league’s drug policy. Now he has got another chance.
According to Shafter, Gordon is traveling to Kansas City on Monday, hoping to sign with the Chiefs’ practice squad. Schaffter reported that Gordon had several teams in the pipeline for a potential signing, but his agents, Eric Donne, and L.A. Sports’ Matt Leist said Kansas City is attractive because it could be a “long-term stop.”
