Josh Allen: Status| Backup| Elbow| What happened to

Joshua Patrick Allen (born May 21, 1996)[1] is an American football quarterback for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL). Allen played college football in Wyoming, where he was a bowl game MVP, and was selected seventh overall by the Bills in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Status

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen did not practice for the second day in a row on Thursday as he struggled with an elbow injury.

Allen did not take part in Wednesday’s practice but was on the field with the Bills during the practice portion which was closed to the media.

“He was still joking and laughing and mocking people and asking crazy questions,” pass-rusher von Miller told reporters. “He had the exact same passion he’s always been.”

Allen suffered an injury to his ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his right elbow when Jets defensive lineman Bryce Huff hit Allen’s throwing arm, resulting in a fumble at the end of the Bills’ 20-17 loss.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott described Allen’s injury as day-to-day, and his condition is still up in the air for Sunday’s Bills game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Allen has not missed a game since 2018 when he was sidelined for four games with a similar UCL injury to the same elbow.

Backup

Allen’s backup is Case Keenum, who is in his tenth year in the league after spending time at Cleveland, Washington, Denver and Minnesota, among other teams. The player of his career has thrown only two passes for eight yards so far this season.

In 2017, he started 14 games for the Vikings when their starter was injured, and was quarterback behind the Minneapolis Miracle Throw to Stephen Diggs in the 2018 playoffs. This is Keenum’s first season with the Bills after spending several seasons with the Browns as Baker Mayfield’s backup.

In his career, Keenum has completed more than 1,300 passes for nearly 15,000 yards in regular season games. He has thrown 78 touchdowns and 48 interceptions since joining the league in 2012.

Elbow

“Josh Allen, an elbow sprain, is believed to have dealt with a UCL sprain, something that has happened in the past,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday morning. “Not considered a big, major injury which means it’s something he can play with.”

Rapoport says Allen’s position is “up in the air” for Sunday, and he will be limited in practice during the week. The biggest issue, he says, is Allen’s ability to catch a football with an injury.

ย

Allen suffered an elbow injury after losing to New York last weekend.

Against a tough Jets defense, Allen apparently put together the worst game of the season in a second loss to the Bills. He was 18-for-34 for 205 yards and two interceptions, failing to throw a touchdown for the first time this year. His five sacks were season-high. He added 86 rushing yards and two scores.

Bills vs. Vikings is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. in Buffalo. ET on Sunday, November 13.

What happened to

The worst possible thing that could happen to the Buffalo Billsโ€”and really, there is no otherโ€”quarterback Josh Allen has an injury that will force him to miss a game, or gasp, several games.

And so the Bills will hold their breath this week to see if the elbow injury Allen suffered in Buffalo’s 20-17 third-to-last game Sunday loss to the Jets will return it to the Minnesota Vikings starting Sunday. going to start.
