This is a direct reference to Pedersen’s piece in The Players’ Tribune before the World Series.

The outfielder recalled a road trip when he ended up in the pitcher’s bus because he wanted to play cards with them.

When they asked him why he was there, Pedersen’s reply was this: “Because you are all motherfs who are going to win us the World Series.”

“Because, yeah – we can’t be a superteam. We probably only won 88 matches. We might’ve had our share of injuries, and slipped below some people’s radar, and it took a while to get to this level. have taken an unconventional route.

“But we can also just be those motherf***ers.”

Pedersen and his teammates proved they were besting the Astros in six games, including a commanding Game 6 victory in Houston to win the World Series title.

Pedersen spent half the season with the Braves and is now a free agent so he may not spend much time in Atlanta beyond these gatherings. However, he has become a legend in a very short span of time. His exclamation will never be forgotten anytime soon.

In the 11th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball (MLB) draft, Pedersen was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers. He committed to play at the University of Southern California, where his father played college baseball, but Jock chose instead to sign with the Dodgers. He was given a $600,000 signing bonus for signing with the Dodgers. The bonus awarded to any Dodgers draft pick signed that year was the second highest, and it was usually four times the amount paid to players drafted after the fifth round. Pedersen wanted more money, but chose to accept his offer because he realized “my dream – my big dream – was to be a star in the big leagues.”

In 2011, as the youngest player with the Pioneer League’s Ogden Raptors, he had a .353 batting average/.429 OBP/.568 slugging percentage, with 11 homers, scoring 64 runs while batting at (RBI). led the league with 997 on-base plus slugging (OPS) percentage, and nine outfield assists. He was second with 24 stolen bases, second in base percentage, third with 54 runs, and 36 walks in 68 games. Was selected as both America’s Rookie All-Star and Topps Short-Season/Rookie League All-Star. Baseball America ranked him the best hitter for average in the Dodgers system for the 2011 season.
