The fight started late after Castano’s Carson arrived late at Dignity Health Sports Park in California. With Jeroen “Boots” Ennis handling the business in a co-feature in just two rounds, Castano needed time to wrap his hands up, sweaty.

If the delay in the start of the fight had any effect on Charloe, he didn’t let it show. Charlo immediately showed some significant adjustments in his July 2021 clash with Castano, pumping up a steady regimen of jabs and Castano being far less content to stay with his back to the ropes.

Castano would eventually begin to find success with his forward movement, landing good right hands in an attempt to close Charlo’s jab. As Castano found more success, Charlo responded with some heavy left hook counters and the action dramatically intensified as both men landed brute force shots.
