Jamal Murray: What happened to| Injury update
Jamal Murray (born February 23, 1997) is a Canadian professional basketball player for the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He also represents the Canadian national team. He played one season of college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats before being drafted by the Nuggets as the seventh overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft. Nicknamed the “Blue Arrow”, he was integral in leading the Nuggets to their first NBA championship in 2023.
What happened to
Nikola Jokic and his men did what they do best, dominate their opponents. After ending the Dallas Mavericks’ winning streak, the Nuggets faced the Chicago Bulls on their home court. As always, everything went according to plan, until Jamal Murray suffered an unexpected injury.
During the beginning of the second quarter, with less than a minute left in the game, Murray exited the game and returned to the locker room. While fans expected the star to return in the remaining minutes, he did not. Reporter John Hollinger of The Athletic tweeted regarding the 26-year-old’s injury. He tweeted that the star continues to have tightness in his right hamstring and added, “Doubtful to return.”
Denver Nuggets point guard Jamal Murray has been ruled out for the remainder of Saturday’s game against the Chicago Bulls with a hamstring injury. Murray was dealing with a quad issue coming into the game, so this is a new injury for the star. Murray finished the game with two points and two rebounds, playing a tough role at guard.
Reggie Jackson will replace Murray, and Nikola Jokic is usually the primary starter for the offense anyway. The Nuggets will try to get Murray back into action and hope his injury doesn’t get too serious. Jackson is the replacement for now, with Peyton Watson also likely to see more opportunities in the rotation. Jokic and Michael Porter Jr. should also see an increase in usage.
