Arkush attended Deerfield High School and attended college at Southern Illinois University before transferring to the University of Michigan, where he majored in English and physical education.
Since 2013, Arkush has led the Chicago Football Project in collaboration with Shaw Media. Chicago Football is a magazine, website, and TV show devoted to coverage of beer and other football topics related to northern Illinois. He produced and co-hosted the syndicated Pro Football Weekly radio and TV show, and also served as a radio commentator on the Chicago Bears radio network from 1987–2004. Since 2006 he has also served as an analyst and sideline reporter on Westwood Forest’s national radio broadcast of NFL games, and is a contributor to WBBM Radio and WBBM-TV.
