Dirk Werner Nowitzki is a German former professional basketball player who is a special advisor for the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association.

Well before he called it quits, we knew Nowitzki’s jersey retirement was only a matter of time away, and on Wednesday night the franchise made it official.

Dirk Nowitzki has recently had his jersey retired by the Dallas Mavericks, and there is no doubt that he is the greatest player to ever suit up for that franchise. He has made his mark on NBA and Mavericks history.
During his jersey retirement speech, Dirk Nowitzki gave a speech where he thanked governor Mark Cuban and the fans for supporting him. It is clear that Nowitzki was grateful to be a part of the Mavericks franchise.

Dirk Nowitzki and Jessica Olsson have now been together almost 11 years since they first met on that special night in February of 2010.
Their interests, particularly in sports, helped them bond from day one, and the couple is now giving back through the foundation and bringing up their three beautiful children in the process while living in Dallas where Dirk became a living legend with the Mavs.
