Glenn Maxwell (born 14 October 1988) is an Australian cricketer who plays professionally. He has played since 2012 for the Australian national team across all formats, though he tends to focus on ODIs and T20Is throughout his career. Both as a right-arm off-spin bowler and a middle-order batsman, he has also played for Stars and State.. Maxwell is an all-rounder, including cricket and baseball, and is known as a reverse and a pull batsman. He was a member of the Australian squad for the victorious campaigns at the 2015 and 2023 ICC World Cups and the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup. Because of his unorthodox techniques such as the pull and reverse sweep, he has good range with the bat and it is difficult to set fields that contain deployed zones for all scoring areas.

Melbourne Stars’ Glenn Maxwell will not play during their KFC BBL|14 opener as the all-rounder is still nursing a hamstring injury he picked up when fielding in last month’s T20 match against Pakistan.

Maxwell was already in doubts to feature for the Stars during the nexus of the season. This was according to the head coach Peter Moores and new captain Marcus Stoinis who pointed to his unavailability for the first game.

His absence was confirmed on Saturday as the Stars named their 14-player squad to take on five-time BBL champions Perth Scorchers in Sunday’s season opener at Optus Stadium.

It did the Stars camp good however, as Beau Webster has been pulled out of Australia’s Test squad and would be in action on Sunday evening.

Net worth

Back in 2024, Glenn Maxwell had amassed a considerable net worth of roughly USD 14 million or roughly INR 112 crore. This was earned mostly through International games and leagues as well as some local circuits and several sponsorships.
