It is Van Gisbergen’s second crown after the pair’s 2020 victory, while Tander now claims five of his 100 career podiums with five Bathurst 1000 wins – in Holdens.
The Triple Eight Race Engineering duo won Holden in the manufacturer’s final appearance at the Bathurst 1000, with the Commodore being replaced by the Chevrolet Camaro as part of the move into a new Gen 3 era of supercars the following season.
Van Gisbergen added: “I’m stunned. It’s epic to get Holden out like this. Holden up!”
