Erik Sven Gunnar Karlsson (pronounced [ˈêːrɪk kɑ̌ːɭsɔn]; born 31 May 1990) is a Swedish professional ice hockey defenseman and alternate captain for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League (NHL).
