It felt great,” said Bennett. “That horse was awesome. It gives a man everything he wants. He has the kick and timing and the finesse to give a man a chance at his job and show off his potential. I’ve seen that horse but never been on it and the ride felt awesome.”

The victory was especially gratifying for Bennett as he fights through the pain.

“The one thing that didn’t bother me all year, he worked in the first round and that was the ride on my (right) wrist,” Bennett said. “Ever since I had my wrist surgery two years ago, everything looked great. Then on the first round, my glove kind of rolled on and it twisted some of the tendons and stuff in my wrist. It’s almost Was clear for round 5 and the pain we got subsided. Then, I strained my groin in round 7 and I was fighting neck swelling. That win is huge after this week and what am I doing “

Broken Leg

Meitsee’s bullfighter Dusty Tucknes suffered a fracture in Round 9 of the National Finals rodeo on Friday, reports Justin SportsMedicine in an NFR release.

Nikki Tate, who runs Mo Betta Rodeo with husband Maura — both of whom are close friends of Tucknes — said she spoke with Tucknes on Saturday around 2 p.m. and was in good spirits.

“She’s grateful it wasn’t her head, neck or back,” she said. “His leg will heal and he will be fine. As long as he has been doing that, he has been very lucky that he hasn’t had too many injuries like this.”
