Benched
Draymond reacts to being benched in 4th Quarter.
With less than eight minutes to go in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr decided to sell Green. That move ended up paying off for Golden State.
After the victory over the Celtics, Green was asked about the benching of the fourth quarter. Obviously, he wasn’t thrilled about it.
“I’m certainly not thrilled to go into an urgent game in the fourth quarter with seven minutes to go out of the game,” Green said via ESPN. “I’m not going to sit here and act like I was thrilled. I’m a contestant.
“But if that’s what the coach decides, you roll with it. I had to keep my head in the game and try to make some plays whenever I went back. That was just my mindset.”
Green then discussed his benching on the latest episode of his podcast. He acknowledges that what matters to him is that Golden State wins the game.
