Donovan Mitchell: Wingspan| Rookie year| Highlights

Gaining steam through the workout and interview process, Donovan Mitchell has a chance to land in the lottery as a 3&D style off guard, given his superior pick and roll scoring and off the dribble. Can serve as a secondary ball handler. Shooting. With a 211-pound frame and 6’10 wingspan, Mitchell can guard any guard spot, and even check off some threes against smaller lineups. A high-character athlete with a culture-changing personality and work ethic, Mitchell should be able to survive anywhere from a mindset standpoint, but basketball fit will be critical to maximize his potential.

He’s a long way from being able to run an NBA team, as his feel for the game could still use some work, so focus on him defending, making open shots, getting down into space, moving the ball. Has been placed in a position to do so. And similar to Norman Powell’s development situation in Toronto, having an athlete in transition will be important.

Highlights

Donovan Mitchell put on a show for the Cleveland Cavaliers and NBA fans at the 2023 All-Star Game. He apparently got a little extra motivation from being voted a starter in the game and the game was back in Utah where he spent the first half of his career.

Team Giannis’ starting shooting guard went beyond the arc and had a great shooting performance. I thought Spida would get at least one dunk in the game, but he decided to focus on shooting and assisting his teammates.
