First announced at BlizzCon in 2018 – where it was less than warmly received by attendees – Diablo Immortals takes place between the events of Diablo 2 and 3, adapting the classic dungeon crawling formula of its predecessors for mobile devices – Which, among other things, means a free-to-play monetization model based on in-app purchases.
Beginning in the city of Westmarch, players can adopt one of six classes – Barbarian, Sorcerer, Monk, Crusader, Necromancer, or Demon Hunter – and travel with other adventurers to explore eight regions. Blizzard and co-developer NetEase have previously stated that additional areas, story, loot, and classes will be added over time.
Crashing
There are several troubleshooting steps on PC, but there are still some things you can do if Diablo Immortal keeps crashing on Android or iOS.
If the game keeps crashing, try restarting the device completely and then launch the game. If the game still crashes after a reboot, make sure you have the latest version of the game, and update it if a newer version is available.
For Android users, you can try the ad extra step and clear the cache of the game. Go to Diablo Immortal App Settings and Clear Cache. If the problem still persists then reset the app completely. You can do this from the Diablo Immortal app setting. Simply choose the Clear data option.
If none of the above fixes helped, your last option is to reinstall the game on both Android and iOS.
Gameplay
Nearly four years after Blizzard announced Diablo Immortal to a mostly nostalgic audience at BlizzCon 2018, the game is finally here. And if you’re like me, there’s a good chance you haven’t followed Immortal’s development since its first appearance. I don’t know what to expect, I got a chance to play the game yesterday ahead of its official launch and left the experience both excited and intrigued about what I saw.
Set five years after the end of Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction, Immortal opens with your character arriving by boat to the city of Wortham, a location from Diablo 3. You find the village under attack by Skarn, the self-styled God of Demons.
I haven’t played the game’s story until its end, but what emerges after the introduction is a far more interesting narrative than what Diablo 3 has to offer. Immortal inherits some of the more annoying tendencies of its predecessor. The characters, especially the villains, talk too much, and the game lacks the atmosphere that made previous Diablo games so memorable. But overall, Immortal serves as a more suitable sequel to its predecessors than Diablo 3.
Is multiplayer
Activision Blizzard’s Diablo Immortal is releasing on June 2, 2022, and one of the most interesting and fun aspects of it is playing it in co-op multiplayer mode. Fortunately, while there are many ways to do this, the game also rewards people for playing together.
Thankfully, this is incredibly easy to do, and there are a few different party styles that players can join. But how do players do this? Here’s how co-op multiplayer works in Diablo Immortal.
