40 yard dash:

The team announced Friday they had signed former Oregon wide receiver and current Olympic hurdler Devon Allen, who has not played organized football since his final season with the Ducks in 2016.

Allen’s signing comes eight months after he competed in the 110-meter hurdles at the Olympics in Tokyo. The 27-year-old reached the finals, but missed out on his first Olympics medal by 0.04 seconds.

Jamaican Hansle Parchment upset American favorite Grant Holloway for gold, while Parchment’s compatriot Ronald Levy edged out Allen, in the fifth lane below, by a nose to take bronze.

NFL Draft:

In 2014 with the Ducks, Allen took on the role of a deep threat as a redshirt freshman, catching 41 passes for 684 yards and 7 touchdowns before suffering a knee injury during the opening kickoff of the Rose Bowl.

In 2015, Allen caught 9 passes for 94 yards, and in 2016, he logged 4 receptions for 141 yards and a touchdown 2016 before suffering another knee injury.

Even while playing for the Ducks football program, Allen twice won the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the 110 hurdles and he also won the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championship.
