Derek Dallas Carr (born March 28, 1991) is an American football quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Fresno State, where he received first-team All-MWC honors twice, and was selected by the Raiders in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. A three-time Pro Bowl selection, Carr helped the Raiders reach the playoffs during the 2016 season, the franchise’s first appearance since 2002. He steered Las Vegas to another post-season berth in 2021.

Green Bay Packers made the shocking decision to trade star wide receiver Davante Adams. The two sides have been going back and forth on contract talks since the last off-season.
However, it was clear that Adams and the Packers were not going to come to a deal. With that in mind, he decided to send the Las Vegas Raiders a star wideout for first- and second-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft.
College
Carr enrolled as an early-entry freshman for the spring semester at Fresno State, where his brother David also played quarterback in 2009, so that he could participate in spring football with the Bulldogs. Then-Fresno State head coach Pat Hill said Carr, a true freshman, was “in the mix” for the starting quarterback position by mid-July. However, in September, a few days before the start of the 2009 season, Hill announced that junior Ryan Colburn would start over Carr.
After re-shirting his 2010 season, Carr took the starting quarterback position for Fresno State in the fall of 2011. [13] During his three years as a starter, he threw 12,843 passing yards and 113 touchdowns. [14]
In the 2011 season, Carr passed for 3,544 passing yards, 26 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He was among the passing leaders of the Western Athletic Conference in several categories. [15] [16] In the 2012 season, he took 4,104 yards, 37 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He won the MWC Offensive Player of the Year for the 2012 season. His 33-yard touchdown to Jay Jones ended the game as the Raiders won 33-27 in overtime. During the first three weeks of the season, Carr started the Raiders 3–0, recording 1,203 passing yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions with a 101.4 passer rating, becoming the AFC Offensive Player of the Year for the month of September. Carr was born in Bakersfield, California, the youngest of three children to Roger and Sherrill Carr.[1] He and his family lived in Bakersfield before relocating to Sugar Land, Texas in 2002, when his oldest The brother, David Carr, became the first overall draft pick of the then-expansion Houston Texans. Carr and his family moved back to Bakersfield for his senior year, and he attended Bakersfield Christian High School.[2]
Carr’s high school football career began at Clements High School in Sugar Land, Texas. After playing on the freshman team in his first year, he became a backup quarterback on the varsity team as a sophomore. He didn’t prepare himself to be the starting quarterback, but a preseason injury to another quarterback put him in the role.
