Did get hurt

Derek Carr’s Sunday is officially over. Carr left the team’s road game against the Vikings after suffering a major concussion in the third quarter and was taken to the locker room a short time later. As the third quarter ended, Carr was officially ruled out with a concussion and a right shoulder injury.

Injury update

The New Orleans Saints left three starters with injuries during Sunday’s 27-19 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

Saints quarterback Derek Carr (right shoulder/concussion), wide receiver Michael Thomas (knee) and cornerback Marshon Lattimore (ankle) all exited early, with Carr and Lattimore both carted off.

Carr left the game late in the third quarter after taking simultaneous high and low hits from Vikings defensive linemen. It appeared that Carr had a helmet over his throwing shoulder and head while completing his throwing motion and as he went to ground, his head hit the turf.

Carr stayed down and several of his teammates took a knee as the Saints team doctor came out to attend to him. Eventually he went towards the medical tent but after a few minutes sat on the front seat of a car. He was taken to the locker room and did not return.
